Titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN)

clubGeneral Characteristics:  Titanium aluminum nitride is a tough ceramic coating developed for machining at high temperatures.  It can be used in a wide variety of applications due to its high hardness and good ductility.  Its excellent wear resistance has made it the coating of choice in many non-machining operations.

Coating Services Group, LLC.’s TiAlN is a proprietary multilayer coating with superior toughness.  Because of its charcoal gray appearance and high scratch resistance, CSG has also developed a variation of the coating specifically for sporting goods including golf clubs and rifle barrels.

Applied by an environmentally friendly PVD (Physical Vapor partDeposition) process, TiAlN coatings do not affect substrate surface finish.

Color RangeLight gray to charcoal gray

Thickness Range:  1 to 5 microns (~0.00004 to 0.0002”)

Hardness:  2700  to 3000 Hv (Vickers hardness)

Maximum Operating Temperature:  800º C (1450º F)

Lubricity:  0.6 coefficient of friction

Deposition Temperature:  350 to 500º C
